TALES OF AN ORANGEPEELER

& other curiosities :: profile
Last night after dinner, we picked up a hitchhiker on the road from Sligo. Lanky and grey-haired, Sean hailed from Ballaghaderreen; he was on a quest to inspect pigs for a friend in our town. We chatted about the Leitrim-Roscommon game, and about the man who was selling the pigs. Then the topic switched: "I voted in the referendum", he said. Looking out the window, he continued: "It's a shame how we even had to vote for this. I voted yes. I think women should be able to choose what they want for themselves." Ireland, you surprise me in so many ways.
