Today's highlight was the spice bag I got from the Chinese takeaway. It's an Irish-Chinese speciality concocted in Dublin a few years ago, consisting of small pieces of breaded chicken, chips, onions, bell peppers, chili peppers, and five-spice powder, all served in a brown paper bag. Best eaten with a bottle of red ale on a ferociously rainy night.

I feel so despondent about the (unwritten) book proposal the husband doesn't want me to submit ("Write the book you actually want to write!!"), I want to go to bed early.
