We opened the bar for the first time since last October, when we were open for a fortnight. Goodbye, weekends! However, it is nice to see people again, rather than in passing on the street.

We are required by law to check for Covid passes, and I've already turned folks away. Despite the high vaccination rate, the incidence rate and hospitalisations are rising, partly due to the polysocial nature of Irish society. When I met Des in the farmer's market, he snorted, "If this keeps up, you'll be closed next month."
