The auditor decided to come a day early. Who does that?! Anyways, he gave us a clean bill of health. Afterwards, my heart no longer heavy with dread, I walked Sam to the woods. It felt like spring: I didn't need a coat, and a few dandelions blazed in the verges, and sinister jelly-like frog spawn clustered in the ditch beneath the spruce plantation bordering the woods. It's probably too soon to say, but it feels like an unfurling, subtle, at times extravagant, is upon us.
