The mother-in-law has been in a good mood. Thanks to three rare dry and sunny days, the hay is finally being cut and baled. Fourteen acres of meadow have been transformed into, at last count, seventyish bales of silage, more to come, silage to feed the cattle over the winter, and more for neighbours in gratitude.

V got covid this week, so our plan to see the Lavinia Fontana exhibition in Dublin was cancelled. It seems everyone is getting covid now, with this new strain named, appropriately, after Eris, the Greek goddess of strife.

Otherwise, not much has happened, finally. Just work, and chores, and errands, and dog walks, and in between some scant writing, which is, considering how this summer has been, a lot of writing. Oh well. Fail. Fail again. Fail better.
